Plan Recognition in Continuous Domains

چکیده
Plan recognition is the task of inferring the plan of an agent, based on an incomplete sequence of its observed actions. Previous formulations of plan recognition commit early to discretizations of the environment and the observed agent’s actions. This leads to reduced recognition accuracy. To address this, we first provide a formalization of recognition problems which admits continuous environments, as well as discrete domains. We then show that through mirroring— generalizing plan-recognition by planning—we can apply continuous-world motion planners in plan recognition. We provide formal arguments for the usefulness of mirroring, and empirically evaluate mirroring in more than a thousand recognition problems in three continuous domains and six classical

متن کاملHeuristic Online Goal Recognition in Continuous Domains
Goal recognition is the problem of inferring the goal of an agent, based on its observed actions. An inspiring approach—plan recognition by planning (PRP)—uses off-the-shelf planners to dynamically generate plans for given goals, eliminating the need for the traditional plan library. However, existing PRP formulation is inherently inefficient in online recognition, and cannot be used with motio...
متن کاملPlan Recognition by Program Execution in Continuous Temporal Domains
Much of the existing work on plan recognition assumes that actions of other agents can be observed directly. In continuous temporal domains such as traffic scenarios this assumption is typically not warranted. Instead, one is only able to observe facts about the world such as vehicle positions at different points in time, from which the agents’ plans need to be inferred. In this paper we show h...
متن کاملFrom Single-Agent to Multi-Agent: Challenges for Plan Recognition Systems
The ability of recognizing a multi-agent plan a plan which has been generated for multiple executing agents implies the skill of recognizing the plan underlying a collective activity in which a group of agents is involved. Multi-agent plan recognition is a necessary and useful extension of current PR systems in some domains. In this work starting from CHAPLIN (CHart Applied to PLan INference, a...
متن کاملIntent Recognition Through Goal Mirroring (Doctoral Consortium)
As the human population and life expectancy increases so does the need for integrating robots and virtual agents closely into everyday human life. These agents may provide care and attention where otherwise the manpower is lacking. In order to create better agents, that interact seamlessly with humans we need to draw lessons from what we know of human social cognition. Designing an agent inspir...
